6:35 p.m. - Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 I showed up there, and bared my wounded arms. Kicked my lumpy legs. I felt weightless in the water. Strong. The blood of my father pumping through my veins. My body pushing on and on, even when my mind dreamed of stillness. I felt the surface tension of the warm liquid beneath my fingertips. I let my hands rest there, while my feet gently propelled me backward. I watched my drishti fade into the distance until finally I closed my eyes. Peace. |
